National Survey on Adult ADHD
A survey conducted by Harris Interactive on behalf of the Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA) found that 4 out of 5 adults with ADD/ADHD believe that the disorder has held them back from:
1. Achieving long-term goals (87%)
2. Achieving short-term goals (80%)
3. or Persuing their dreams (80%)
Wow! It's amazing yet not surprising that 8 out of 10 people diagnosed with ADD/ADHD conclude that they are broken and therefore feel there is no point in persuing their heart felt dreams. It sadly makes sense. If you spend your time and energy on what you believe is broken and weak, how could you possibly have the time and energy to focus on what you truly want out of life!

ADHD Coach Academy Anecdotal Research
77 clients diagnosed and treated with ADD/ADHD were interviewed over a 2 year period. They were asked what they knew about ADD/ADHD and had a general, but not specific understanding of the condition. What was interestingly found was each of the clients were not aware of how, where, and when their impairing ADD/ADHD challenges were manifested. They could not ariticulate how ADD/ADHD showed up for them personally.
What's the Implication?
The day-to-day experience of living with ADD/ADHD is situational. ADD/ADHD shows up in each individual's life uniquely. It's dependent on how you receive the situation you're in, where you receive it, and when you receive it. Here's the point: You don't know ADD/ADHD until you know YOUR ADD/ADHD. Did you know that it can be mathematically proven that there are 18,000 different ways ADD/ADHD manifests itself? That doesn't account for ADDers who experience other mental health conditions with their own ADD/ADHD. We are all different and unique. ADHD Coaching focuses on the individual, not the diagnoses, and how you have been uniquely designed to live your life and do your work your way!
